Terms & Conditions

1. Although many of my clients have been admitted to top colleges and universities, I cannot guarantee admissions results for any student.

2. I cannot write essays for you. Ethical codes forbid third parties from preparing essays for applicants. I can guide and edit, but I will not write the essays for you. As such, the quality of the final essays will depend largely on the student’s writing ability and effort. While I try my best to help students produce essays that reflect their best work, I cannot guarantee that the essays will be flawless or of the quality one might expect from a professional writer.

3.On average, the Common Application essay takes 7-12 hours of lesson time. Supplemental essays range from approximately 1-4 hours depending on word count. Similar prompts can allow recycling of previous essay material, which speeds along the process. If the student has drafts to bring to the first session (depending on the quality of the drafts), this can also speed up the process.

4. Cancellation Policy. Any no-show, reschedule, or cancellation within 24 hours of a lesson will be charged in full. Please let me as soon as possible if you have to cancel.

5. Essay Usage Policy. Unless otherwise stated, you are granting permission for your essay drafts to be shared with current and potential clients at Reach Essays. This may include marketing purposes on the website and promotional materials. I will take care to protect your name and personal details so that your essays will not be identifiable. If you wish to opt out of this agreement, please let me know and I will not use your materials for any purposes outside your lessons.

6. Work Outside Lesson Time. To speed up the process, students can request that I provide offline feedback on their essays (ie. reading drafts, making comments), and those hours will be charged at the same rate as session time. It typically takes 30 minutes or less for me to provide feedback on one essay.

7. Parent check-ins. I understand that this is a very involved process for the entire family and parents often ask to set up calls to get updates on their child's progress. I send out lesson reports after every session to keep everyone in the loop, but I am happy to jump on a call. Calls shorter than 15 minutes will not be billed, anything longer will be billed at the lesson rate. Thank you for understanding.

8. My rate is $300/hour to be billed twice monthly, with a $1,000 deposit upfront. If I bill you less than the deposit amount, I will refund the remainder of the deposit immediately.
